A Twin Otter research aircraft has been operated by the Center for Interdisciplinary Remotely Piloted Aircraft Studies (CIRPAS) at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA since 1998.

The aircraft supports atmospheric and oceanographic research for Office of Naval Research, National Science Foundation, Department of Energy, National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration, NASA, and others.

The airplane is instrumented to measure the meteorological state variables, flight path and platform attitude, turbulence, aerosol particle concentration and size spectra, cloud and precipitation drop concentration and size spectra, light scatter and absorption coefficients and sea surface temperature.

Ample room is in the cabin for rack-mountable guest instruments.

Well characterized aerosol community inlet provides air samples into the cabin.

Nadir and zenith ports provide up and down view for radiometers, sunphotometers and imaging instruments.

Satellite communication system permits flight following from the ground and viewing of data in real time, as well as chat-room communication between flight scientist and science team on ground.

The CIRPAS Twin Otter is a non-pressurized turbo-prop, twin-engine aircraft operated by the Center for Interdisciplinary Remotely-Piloted Aircraft Studies (CIRPAS).

The aircraft is equipped with an instrument suite consisting of meteorological, aerosol, cloud, precipitation, radiation, and chemical sensors, and a well equipped calibration laboratory.

The aircraft has a payload capacity of 1500 lbs, an endurance of about five hours fully loaded, and a practical mission ceiling of 18,000 feet, or 12,000 feet without oxygen.

The available payload power is 200 Ampere of 28 VDC, or 5600 Watts, of which up to 4000 watts may be inverted to 120V AC at 60 Hz.

Since 1996, CIRPAS has supported numerous scientific experiments all over the world, sponsored by the Office of Naval Research, NSF, NASA, NOAA, the Department of Energy, and the Naval Research Laboratories.

- Air America (N774M)

Air America was an American passenger and cargo airline established in 1950 and covertly owned and operated by the Central Intelligence Agency's (CIA) Special Activities Division from 1950 to 1976.

It supplied and supported United States covert operations in Southeast Asia during the Vietnam War.

- Air Wisconsin (N711AS)

The airline was established in 1965 and started operations on August 23, 1965.

It was founded to connect Appleton, Wisconsin with Chicago.

In 1985 it merged with Mississippi Valley Airlines and continued to operate under the Air Wisconsin name.

In 1990 it acquired Denver-based Aspen Airways and was itself bought by United Airlines a year later.

In April of 1995 during the late ski season, Air Wisconsin was operating British Aerospace BAe 146 jet shuttle service as United Express on the former Aspen Airways route between Aspen, CO (ASE) and Denver (DEN) with no less than fourteen (14) daily nonstop flights in each direction.

Air Wisconsin pioneered the concept of codesharing as an United Express carrier and had rapidly become the nation's largest regional airline in the 1980s.

You will need to download Heinrich's original DHC-6 mod before you can install this, as this is just the ytd file you need to replace the original with.
