Description

This is a convert of Double Doppler's MET British siren for GTA 4. All credits for the sound files goes to them.

Install instructions

1: Export your vehicles.awc as OAC to somewhere

2: Replace the vehicles folder with the one given

3: Import vehicles.oac

Includes a wail, phaser, yelp, and hi-lo. Hi-lo replaces AMBULANCE_WARNING

I had to remove 2 sound files; The train rumbling sound, and the clown horn, as keeping them made the vehicles.awc folder over 15.75 mb, muting the in game vehicle sounds.

FAQ:

Q: Why is it not working?

A: Make sure you've installed the vehicles.oac file properly, and that you've run the installer.

Q: Help! It's not working/not working on my game!/it's too loud/too quiet/I can't hear it, etc etc etc! And I just bought the game! WTF?

A: Try lowering the volume in your sound settings using a program like audacity, or using a different siren if you have one. Also, try installing an alternative audio mod. Try exporting your vehicles.awc as OAC to somewhere else to try and make sure that it's not an issue with GTA4's audio files; If you're still having issues after doing this, report the problem here on GTAForums so we can help you out further with troubleshooting.

Q: How do I get it to work on the PS3?

A: You'll need to download a mod to make it work.

Q: Why is there no siren in the game?

A: Vehicles.awc doesn't include any sirens, so you can't add any. Sirens are currently planned for a future update.
